Extra Wide Egg Noodles with Bolognese Sauce
Lasagnette alla Bolognese all'Uovo
Ingredients:
12 ounces Dakota Growers Extra Wide Egg Noodles
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon carrot, chopped
1 tablespoon red onion, chopped
1/2 pound hot sausage
1/2 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh sage, chopped
1/4 cup red wine or water
2 cups marinara sauce
1/4 cup cream
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Directions Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Cook garlic, carrot, and onion 5 minutes or until sizzling. Crumble meats in pan, stir in herbs, cook 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour in wine, let evaporate 3 minutes, and add marinara sauce and cream. Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain well. Transfer into sauce pan and cook 5 minutes longer on low heat, stirring occasionally. Portion out into individual dishes, topping with Parmesan cheese and juices from pan. Servings 4
