Chocolate Raisin Crinkles
| Raisins coated with chocolate -- just too good to be true. |
| INGREDIENTS |
| 1/2 cup butter or margarine |
| 1-2/3 cups sugar |
| 2 pieces (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted |
| 1 tablespoon vanilla |
| 2 cups flour |
| 2 teaspoons baking powder |
| 1/2 teaspoon salt |
| 1/3 cup milk |
| 1 cup California raisins, chopped |
| 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped |
| Sifted powdered sugar |
| PROCEDURE |
| Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add melted chocolate and vanilla; mix thoroughly. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to mixture alternately with milk. Add raisins and nuts. Chill several hours. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F about 15 minutes; do not overbake. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan. |
